Morning Star's Blackfoot village has been attacked by white soldiers when she is only nine winters old. Morning Star hides in some willows by a stream and is not discovered. She finds she is the only person who has survived the horrible massacre. She vows to hate the white man forever. She finds some horses who like her have survived. She is good with horses and together with her two horses she begins to search for another tribe. Through many difficulties she is finally found unconscious by a Shonshone brave who takes her to his village. She is accepted by the new tribe and a kind woman called "The Old One" becomes her mother. She goes through many other challenges but is finally chosen as the wife of the new chief. He mistreats her and so she is forced to runaway. She is saved and befriended by a white mountain man. She has sworn to hate the white man. Will she avenge her family?

Johnny is a military man and Annabelle is a milk maid in Devonshire England in the 1700s. They meet one day along the road as Annabelle is returning from the market and a deep love begins. The military conflicts in Scotland and England cause them to flee to France. They endure seven long years of separation with pirates and aristocracy pulling them in different directions. Finally they are reunited but will the twists of fate keep them apart or will their lives and love finally be realized?
